Spring request for proposals: Graduate Student Awards, Steve Meshnick Travel Award

TriCEM is now accepting proposals for our spring funding cycle!

We have two opportunities available for graduate students:

  • Graduate Student Awards are one-year awards of up to $7,500 for graduate students to pursue research in evolutionary medicine. To be eligible, a student must be enrolled at Duke and is expected to lead and author aspects of the proposed research under the mentorship of their advisor. Awards will include the opportunity for additional funds to support an undergraduate research assistant on the project.
  • The Steve Meshnick Travel Award is an award for up to $1500 for a graduate student to attend a conference to present research, or to attend a workshop or other training opportunity. To be eligible, the applicant must be a graduate student at Duke, NC A&T, NCCU, NC State, or UNC-Chapel Hill with research relevant to infectious disease and evolution.

All proposals are due on Wednesday, April 12th, 2023. To learn more about these awards and how to apply, please read the full RFPs for the Graduate Student Awards and for the Steve Meshnick Travel Award. We look forward to receiving your submissions!
